A lot of good games wer played in an all in all successful season. He believes that NLA and NLB have finally found a mode that suits most teams. After several mode changes over the past years a constant mode is appreciated.<\/p>\n<p>Denise D\u00fcbendorfer as head of the umpiring committee reported delighted that in 2016 a total of 194 umpires were in action. This is a very welcomed development. Unfortunately, the quality of umpire reports and the implementation of the dress code must be improved. Now also the inscription for new <a href=\"https:\/\/staging.swiss-baseball.ch\/en\/association\/ausbildung\/\" target=\"_blank\">umpiring and scoring courses<\/a> are online.<\/p>\n<p>These topics were also discussed:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Mode NLA 2017: similar to 2016<\/li>\n<li>Mode NLB 2017: similar to 2016<\/li>\n<li>Swiss Cup: There won\u2019t be a Swiss Cup in 2017<\/li>\n<li>All-Star Game: Written Applications can be sent to the SBSF office. The All-Star Game will take play during the season not anymore after regular season<\/li>\n<li>Opening weekend: 22\/23 april<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Softball<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The 2016 season in softball was a success again. Towards the end of the season, some teams unfortunately had difficulties to sport enough players for gamedays. The quality of umpiring was an issue and needs to improve in 2017.<\/p>\n<p>Other topics:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Opening weekend: 22\/23 april<\/li>\n<li>Proposal on changing the mode and introduction of a 2<sup>nd<\/sup> league was rejected<\/li>\n<li>Junior gamedays: a total of 3 junior gamedays will be planned: one in Winter (Gym), one at the beginning of the season and one during the season.<\/li>\n<li>Discussion on import players\u00a0: Despite a long discussion, no consensus could be reached. The different arguments and opinions are taken into consideration when the TC softball will meet again.
