First Pitch for the Little Leaguers

Last Sunday, three mixed Little League teams had the pleasure of opening the 2021 Swiss baseball season in Hünenberg. In beautiful spring weather, around 30 players enjoyed the first opportunity in a long time to compete with others once again on the baseball field.

The focus was on fun and game experience during the three encounters between the participating clubs Cardinals, Challengers, Devils, Flyers, Kobras, Lions, Unicorns and Vikings. Several participants experienced their very first at-bats, hits or plays, while others were able to brush up on the pitching and batting skills they already had. The highlight of the day was the grand slam over the fence in left field at Daulton Best (see last picture).

The next LL game days of this kind will take place on April 10 in Bern and on April 25 in Therwil. Epidemiological situation permitting, the SBSF will send a selection of all participating players under Head Coach Armin Blickenstorfer to the Little League Qualifier in Kutno, Poland, 12-17.07.21.
