Last Sunday the first Juniors Day Softball took place in Wittenbach. The responsible coaches, Chris Zehnder and Bina Sokolowski were very pleased about the numerous participants that day. 17 young players attended the training in Wittenbach.
In the morning small fitness and coordination units were on schedule followed by defense exercises. Throwing, catching and fielding drills from basics to the more difficult were all executed with remarkable skill by the participants.
The afternoon was then all about offense. The players had the opportunity to test and improve their skills in batting. A Hitting circle with different drills in hitting technique and mechanics as well as Live at Bat Station focussing pitch selection were supporting them.
To round up a successful Softball day, an Indoor game in Softball gave all a chance to prove their different progresses made this day. The exciting game with many impressive plays ended with a 24:25 result but more than all with many happy and smiling faces.
This Juniors day in Wittenbach was a successful event that will be followed up by the Softball Youth Days.
