Our special correspondent in British Columbia, Alfred Eigenmann just informed us, that our Ladies were warmly and enthusiastically welcomed at Vancouver Airport by Alfred and the Swiss Society Vancouver. Cow Bells, Flags as well as loud „Hopp Schwiiz“ cheers were waiting at the airport of Vancouver for the Swiss Softball Team on their arrival. The Swiss Society Vancouver will , whenever possible, follow the games of the Team carefully and will also try to attend their games in Surrey.
The first day was used for a first practise to be acclimatized. At 4pm, the Swiss and other teams were officially welcomed by the Mayor of Surrey, Mrs. Linda Hepner. It was a touching and unforgettable moment when the National Anthem of our Country was played for the occasion.
Today now at 20 h (Swiss Time) the team will face Serbia for their first challenge in this big event. The Swiss Baseball and Softball Federation (SBSF) as well as all Softball Fans thank Alfred and the Swiss Society Vancouver for their great engagement and all efforts taken in order to support our Team in Surrey.
